Almost all the humans in the world are selfish and self concentrated. During our development we have destroyed our beautiful Nature in such a way that after some year earth will no longer remain livable. During civilization people cut down millions of trees, during industrialization we had released toxic substances in the nature. You might have seen the movie “Wall E” in which the earth becomes dumping ground and all the people leaves the earth and stays in the space ship. I think in near future same condition will be there on our planet because of the emission of highly toxic pollutants in the Nature. Pollutants are those substances which are present in wrong quantity, in wrong place and in wrong composition; this is the scientific definition of Pollutants. For common man simply we can say that the substances which are hazardous to the environment are pollutants. In this article we will see water pollution problem in details.
In most of the part of the world industrialization and civilization badly impacts the water bodies. Industries release toxic chemicals in side nearby water bodies. Waste water is also released in the rivers by municipalities and other administrative bodies without proper treatments. The toxic elements includes carcinogenic chemicals such as aldehydes, petroleum components such as grease, oils, hydrocarbons etc, different types of acids and other waste substances. These toxic chemicals mix with water and can be consumed by human being. There is major health issues arise due to inhalation of such contaminated water. The major and most hidden problem is cancer. Most of the petroleum substances are carcinogenic agents. Carcinogenic agents are those substances by inhalation of which risk of cancer is very high. Actually cancer disease is still a magical thing for the present medical science. The researchers and scientist still not find the root cause of cancer but they found some chemicals carcinogenic means the substances that cause cancer. Most of the industrial waste is carcinogenic and hence is very dangerous to health. The risk is more with the children and old age people.
Not only chemicals but also the organic waste causes water pollution. Organic waste is decomposed in the water bodies by different bacteria and viruses which contaminate water. Such contaminated water produces many water diseases mostly in young age and old age people. World health organization continuously aware every country related with these water born diseases because the impact of water pollution is directly related with the health of all human beings. Another problem with water bodies is the presence of plastic materials which were thrown by nearby people and civilization during their day to day life. Plastic material is non decomposable waste material which blocks the water channels and passages which causes growth of bacteria and viruses in water bodies.
Now it’s our responsibility to reduce water pollution so that every individual can get fresh and pure water.
